We are pleased to announce the addition of two new endowed chair faculty positions at TLI. As you know Dr. Lockwood Carlson (Senior Fellow/Honeywell-James J. Renier Chair) and Professor Alfred Marcus (Honeywell-Edson W. Spencer Chair) continue to very ably serve in their current endowed chairs on a part-time basis. It is normal practice to split chairs that have sufficient resources to support more than one distinguished colleague.
These additions noted below reflect TLI’s strategic plan in support of the MOT program, addition of a technological innovation management minor for other graduate students and development of new Master of Science degrees in Medical Devices and Energy Technologies in close partnership with several departments across the UMN and colleagues in the public and private sectors.
As noted in the announcement the ideal candidate would have high-tech industry executive experience (a minimum of 7 years), curriculum development, superb teaching and ideally ability to conduct related scholarly work (research and publications/leadership).
We encourage you to share this announcement with qualified colleagues, as you see fit, and apply by April 15. Screening of applicants will begin immediately, interviews will be scheduled for late April – mid-May, and the search will conclude by late May.
