Late Prof. Mukandan

It is with profound sadness, I inform you that Prof. Mukandan, a young NITIE faculty member, has suddenly passed way. He was part of the IAMOT 2019 organizing committee and responsible for conference proceedings and Doctor Colloquia. The entire NITIE community and organizing committee are in deep shock. We share the grief and mourn this premature loss of a talented and humble scholar with our prayers and thoughts. I met Prof. Mukandan personally during my last December visit to NITIE. I have requested the organizing committee to begin the conference with a one minute silent prayer in remembrance of Prof. Mukandan.

Kind regards,

Osman Ahmed

President, IAMOT

Dr Osman Ahmed – New IAMOT President

Dear Board Members,

It gives me a great pleasure to inform you that, based on the results of the votes of the election that was conducted by the Chairman of the Board, Prof. Leon Pretorius, Dr. Osman Ahmed has been elected the new President of our Association. Many of you know Osman as a loyal and valuable member of IAMOT for many years.  He has contributed to the association in numerous ways, including recently being a keynote speaker at the 2016 conference in Orlando.

Osman brings a strong academic background and excellent professional experience to the position. After many years of high level technical positions at Siemens Corporation, he recently joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the USA, where he is now a Principal Technical Advisor, Advanced Controls.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Osman Ahmed on this special honor.

John Aje,

Outgoing President, IAMOT2017.
